  • Dr A P J Abdul Kalam was born on October 15, 1931, in Rameshwaram, South Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

 

  • The full name of A.P.J Abdul Kalam is “Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam”.

 

  • When Kalam was 8 years old, he wakes up at 4 o’clock in the morning and after bathing, he used to read
    mathematics.

 

  • Dr Kalam sold “newspaper” in his childhood. Indeed, he wanted to help his father financially, for which he
    used to go out to share the newspaper after coming to school.

 

  • From 1992 to 1999, Kalam was also the Defense Minister’s Defense Adviser. During this time, the Vajpayee Government
    also made nuclear tests for the second time in Pokhran and India joined the countries making nuclear weapons.

 

  • Dr Kalam was awarded the Bharat Ratna Award in the year 1997. Let us tell you, after Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishna and
    Dr Zakir Hussain, Kalam is the only person who took over the post of President after holding Bharat Ratna.

  • Doctor Kalam is very popular among youth and children. It is his popularity that MTV nominated him as Youth Icon of

  • He has also known as the name of “Missile Man”. Dr Abdul Kalam has the credit of making India the first indigenous
    satellite SLV-3 periphery as Project Director.

 

  • When the President of India Dr Abdul Kalam reached Switzerland on 26 May 2006, the Government of Switzerland declared
    that day “Science Day”, which is dedicated to Dr Azad.

 

  • I have been very sad to say that this great man died on July 27, 2015, due to a heart attack.
