  • The full name of AK-47 is Automatic Kalashnikov – 47 (47 means, built in 1947). This was named on the name of its founder Mikhail Kalashnikov.

 

  • During the Second World War, a tank commander, Mikhail Kalashnikov, was admitted to the hospital after being injured in the shoulder, where he heard the injured soldiers complaining of the Soviet Rifles and he decided to change these Soviet rifles. And Mikhail started his career as a weapon designer. From 1942 to 1947, after 5 years of hard work, one thing was created which today we call AK 47.
